The Annual Meeting Reveals Competitiveness of Chinese Enterprises

This is the fifth year since the first “Chinese Enterprises Competitiveness Annual Meeting” convened in 2003. During those five years, we have witnessed a period of remarkable performance by Chinese enterprises. These last five years have seen a reaping of the fruits brought about by China’s three-decade-long reform and opening, as evidenced by the increasing growth and maturity of Chinese enterprises and the rising competitiveness of publicly listed Chinese enterprises. Along with the development of globalization initiatives, Chinese enterprises are moving firmly and solidly towards internationalization and have begun to have a profound impact on the world economy. The roadmap of Chinese enterprises has now become a focus of global attention.

These last five years have brought many achievements worth highlighting. We also expect this period to be a starting point for Chinese enterprises to enter into a new era of profitability and responsibility.

Seeking genes for high profitability BEIJING - - “The era of high profitability is coming ”and “ Chinese enter prises competitiveness continues to rise”.

These were the viewpoints gaining attention among the participants from nearly one thousand enterprises, investment institutions,economic administrations and media outlets at the 2007 Chinese Enter prises Competitiveness Annual Meeting.
The fifth report on Chinese Enterprises Competitiveness:Chinese Enterprises Competitiveness Report (2007) (hereinafter referred to as “the Report”) was released on November 28t h . Based on a performance analysis of Chinese A-share listed companies through a monitoring and observation program, the report concluded Chinese corporate profitability has entered into a rapid growth phase.
